Hi, I'm Toby, a Fashion Communication student at Northumbria University with a photography practice centred around one question: what does authenticity actually look like in fashion imagery?

My practice is conceptual. Rather than simply documenting clothing, I'm interested in what an outfit, pose, or a colour can say about identity, pressure, and change. My major project, The Human Experience: Authenticity in Fashion Imagery, explores this across a series of shoots, including Grief, Metamorphosis, and Displacement.

I'm drawn to photography that does more than look good; I want it to say something. That means a lot of pre-production: thinking through styling, props, and location before a single frame is shot, then directing on the day to get the specific mood or story I'm after.

Outside of shooting, I'm into fashion, music, and pop culture more broadly, and I try to bring that wider visual literacy into my concept work.
